Acute Pain & Inflammation Protocol

Summary

A short-term clinical framework that reduces acute inflammatory signaling, controls pain, and speeds early tissue repair after injury or procedures.

Overview

A structured, short-term clinical framework to reduce acute inflammatory signaling, control pain amplification, and speed early tissue repair after injury or procedural inflammation. The protocol combines local tissue-support peptides with systemic anti-inflammatory modulators and, when indicated, mitochondrial support to keep inflammation from becoming chronic.

The goal is to move patients efficiently from the acute inflammatory phase into functional recovery, with defined cycling and monitoring parameters.

Clinical scope

  • Acute musculoskeletal injury (sprain, strain, contusion)
  • Post-procedural inflammation
  • Sports trauma and overuse flare-ups
  • Localized soft tissue swelling and tenderness

Core stack

BPC-157Subcutaneous (SubQ), perilesional250–500 mcgTwice daily4–6 weeks
KPVSubQ or oral200–500 mcg1–2 times daily4–6 weeks

Enhanced stack (if indicated)

Phase structure

1

Phase 1: LoadingWeeks 1–2

  • BPC-157: 500 mcg SubQ, twice daily
  • KPV: 500 mcg, twice daily
  • Selank: twice daily
  • TB-500: twice weekly (if indicated)
  • SS-31: daily (if indicated)
2

Phase 2: Active recoveryWeeks 3–4

  • BPC-157: 250–500 mcg, twice daily
  • KPV: 1–2 times daily
  • TB-500: weekly (if used)
  • Reassess pain and mobility weekly
3

Phase 3: TaperWeeks 5–6

  • Reduce BPC-157 to once daily, then discontinue
  • Taper KPV
  • Discontinue Selank
  • Continue TB-500 only if repair is incomplete

Cycling guidelines

  • BPC-157: 4–6 weeks is typical for acute cases
  • KPV: 4–6 weeks is typical
  • Selank: 2–4 weeks is typical
  • TB-500: 6–8 weeks is typical
  • SS-31: 4 weeks is typical

Rationale

This protocol combines localized angiogenic signaling with systemic inflammatory modulation. BPC-157 is the anchor peptide for tissue repair and nitric oxide support. KPV directly modulates the NF-κB pathway. Selank reduces central sensitization and anxiety-amplified pain signaling.

When required, TB-500 enhances cellular migration, and SS-31 stabilizes mitochondrial membranes to limit the spread of oxidative stress.

Expected outcomes

  • Reduction in inflammatory pain (VAS improvement)
  • Decreased swelling and localized tenderness
  • Improved range of motion
  • Faster transition to the proliferative healing phase
  • Reduced risk of chronic inflammation

Monitoring

  • Weekly VAS pain scale
  • Range of motion assessment
  • Swelling and tenderness tracking
  • Functional tolerance evaluation

Contraindications

  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Active malignancy
  • Active systemic infection
  • Severe hepatic or renal impairment
  • Known hypersensitivity to any component
